High Quality Beef. Our certified organic beef is produced by ranchers who are committed to raising their cattle according to strict organic standards. Their commitment in the production of organic beef is continued by Canelones Foods during the processing and marketing of this unique beef. Organic Standards. Organic production is in full accordance to the European Union Standards (EU-Regulation 2092/91) and USDA’s National Organic Program (NOP). SKAL International from The Netherlands issued the certificate and license contract to Frigorifico Canelones S.A. which covers the following products: Chilled and Frozen Raw Beef , Cooked Beef Logs, Cooked Beef Dices, Cooked Beef Tongues and Beef Extract. The organic standard compliance must be documented and inspected from "farm to plate". The claims include highest levels of animal welfare, no routine drugs, growth promoters, animal protein or any other additives fed to animals. At least 70% of animal feed must he grown to organic standards, feedlots not allowed. No use of artificial fertilisers or pesticides on feed crops or grass. No use of Genetically Modified Organisms.   |
